Cupid, Whimsy, Shadow & Firefly 2009 DISTRICT VII SAANEN SPECIALTY—BOISE ID.—1ST PLACE DAIRY HERD
Left to right :Cupid, Whimsy, Shadow & Firefly
I only went to ONE club show in 2009 but it was well worth the time and effort to travel almost 500 miles one way. Shadow finished her GCH, Cupid was BOB & BUOB, two junior does earned legs, plus we won group classes we had entries for. Between the one show and Linear Appraisal all mature does, the bucks and some dry stock got evaluated.
Cherub & Angel Cherub & Angel - A Proud moment to cherish! 1st place Dam & Daughter, 2005 ADGA National Show.
Cherub and Angel have crossed the rainbow bridge. While these exceptional does are no longer living with us their legacy lives on through offspring. I am saddened by their loss-they are forever out on green pasture with browse around the edges and warm sun on their backs.

Imagine my surprise when I got the letter Spring of 2014 that Cupid now qualified for SG! Nothing like waiting until the age of ten for that to happen. After being open in 2013, Cupid 'blessed' me with triplet bucks January of 2014! Cupid is aging well, still holding her own and milking well for her age. Cupid hasn't been shown since 2009 where she won top honors at the District VII Saanen Specialty.

Charm spent her dry time in the 'diet corral'. It didn't hurt her a bit. Charm has milked better, went to two shows in 2013 where she finished her GCH. Then she earned an Excellent LA score. Way to go, Charm! Photos from 2013.

When I was laid up with my knee surgery in 2011 Seraphim managed to get a terrible parasite load. My helpers did good work on the whole but they just didn't look close enough to see it coming. Seraphim was so anemic when my vet came out he thought she should be euthanized. My dear friend Lisa took Seraphim home and nursed her back to health. Bless you Lisa! Seraphim came home to breed and have triplets in 2012 and milk pretty decently for a nine year old. A testament to her strength and heart, she will remain one of my wonderful old does. Seraphim was eased over the Rainbow Bridge February 6th. She joined the group of old favorites buried along the back fence.

Angel is not a large doe—even if she milks better then many of the bigger does. She finally made the grade as a six year old, new LA score FS90 VEVE!!! 2014 photos she was a bit sunburned.

D-Lite is one of the tallest does in the barn. Big and rangy but thankfully good natured she truly lives up to her name. After her extended lactation, D-Lite was moved to summer kidding to still be going strong for winter milk.

GCH ROCKY-RUN MIC'S SASCHET 10*M
GCH ROCKY-RUN MIC'S SASCHET 10*M

Saschet went to the Boise Idaho show where she was BOB 3 out of 4 rings. Saschet was pretty lean for this 2012 photo from Boise. She also went to Colorado for the ADGA National show where she placed 3rd in the 7 and over class. I felt she deserved better but you pay your money and you take your chances.

ROCKY-RUN I'S FIREFLY 12*M

Fire Fly kidded March of 2014 with another set of triplets. Not a good kidding, loosing one kid in an 'all nighter' Fire Fly came through a little sore but with some TLC she got back on track. She didn't travel well to her one show last May only making a moderate amount of milk. Her new photo really doesn't do her justice.

ROCKY-RUN WAY RELISHING 12*M
ROCKY-RUN WAY RELISHING 12*M

Relish is such a laid back doe---you need to 'invite' her to get up and get to the Parlor almost every milking. Only time she is in a hurry is to get to the fresh Alfalfa! Relish went to her first show at 5, no big rosettes but she looked very nice.

Sherman is a wonderful specimen. Just took the pictures Nov 7th...not a good time of year to show off a buck when he is locked and loaded! All but one of his first doe kids was sold in 2014. I plan to retain a few for myself this kidding season.

ROCKY-RUN ROGUE'S REDEMPTION
ROCKY-RUN ROGUE'S REDEMPTION

Redemption has developed into a large dairy buck. His first fresh daughters are very promising. Glad I have him in the tank! I sold Redemption to Mt Capra: a large commercial herd where the milk is made into healthily supplements. Owners, Frank & Joe Stout, have purchased a number of bucks over the years. They know genetics for good production and conformation are needed no matter herd size!

Archer is one of Cupids 2014 buck kids. He has his mom’s long wattles and very correct head. He was sold along with Redemption to Mt Capra with the stipulation he stayed to service a few does before he left. I never took a picture of him sorry to say.
